Losses and Damage
We have made every effort to equip and furnish the cottage with items that are attractive but robust. With one or two exceptions, if guests are careful, most items will withstand reasonable wear and tear. However, conscious that accidents can happen, we kindly request that guests adhere to the following guidelines:
-
Please do not touch or move any artwork or ornaments.
-
If you fear that young children could damage items, advise us in advance in order that we can relocate fragile and valuable items.
-
Please do not take any items away from the property. There are some exceptions to this, being: old black towels; picnic basket; house key; grey sitting room throws.
-
Do not overload the dishwasher, we recommend that you handwash the sharp knives, pans, and large items.
-
Do not rest feet directly on furniture.
-
Use coasters and trays when putting glasses and plates on furniture.

If you do damage or lose something during your stay with us, you can either replace it with exact same items or immediately advise us in order that we can replace the item. On the "Guidance" page is an inventory of almost all the items in the cottage. Where possible, we have included the supplier and replacement cost, this allows you the opportunity to replace the item yourself.
It is important that you advise us of any damage or loss as soon a possible in order to mitigate any additional expense in procuring the items prior to the arrival of the next guests.
The cost of replacing items will be deducted from your deposit inline with the inventory. Any additional expense incurred in procuring such items will also be deducted.

Recycling and Food Waste Disposal
As Cotswold District Council only collect waste once a week, and as they are very strict regarding waste separation, we need you follow the following instructions:
-
When preparing waste for collection it must be separated into into 6 different containers as follows:
-
Small grey lidded caddy - food waste only, in decomposable bags.
-
Black plastic box 1 - Glass
-
Black plastic box 2 - Paper
-
Blue bag - Cardboard
-
White bag - Other cleaned mixed recycling (plastic containers/foil/metal cans/Tetra Pak cartons)
-
Grey wheely bin - Non-recyclable waste (nappies/plastic packets/ plastic film)
-
-
Please only use the cottage's containers which are stored at the rear of the middle bay of the stone parking bay.
-
Food waste is collected at 7:00 am every Monday morning. Recycling is collected on alternate Monday mornings (please check to see if recycling is collected on the Monday after you leave by using this link. (postcode GL55 6QH)
-
If you leave us on a Sunday, please put any waste or recycling to be collected the next day alongside the property boundary walls, close to the drive entrance. (Photo).
-
If you leave on any other day, please sort your food waste and recycling as instructed above. It will be left for collection by property management.
It is very important that these instructions are followed. If they are not, it is likely that the council will not collect the waste and recycling and consequently, the property manager will need to take it to the local recycling center. This will incur an additional cost of £25.

When we stay at the cottage, we put food waste in the small bin under the sink and put this in the collection caddy whenever appropriate. There should be compostable bags for this bin in the utility room. We clean all other recycling waste and put it in the bin in the utility room, there should also be plastic bags to line this. We then separate this waste into the appropriate containers whenever necessary.

We have assumed that you will not have any small electrical, textiles, or gardening waste.

Thank you for your cooperation with this, and for helping us to do our bit for the planet.

Using Existing Consumables
We provide certain consumable items for you to use during your stay at the cottage.
These are limited to: Cleaning products, 1 dishwasher tablet per day, washing up sponge, toilet roll, kitchen roll, waste bags.

It is likely that you will find other consumable items in the house, these probably belong to us and have been left for our use when we stay in the cottage. If you use any such products we ask that you make a discretionary monetary contribution towards their replacement.

The use of any such items is at your risk.

Using The Trust Box
If you wish to make any discretionary payment, please put cash in the money box that is fixed to the wall to the right-hand side of the desk in the office.

Any payments are discretionary, however, we would hope that they are made for the following reasons:
-
Use of non-included consumables such as clothes detergent/conditioner, soaps/shampoos, tea/coffee/sugar, cooking oils etc.
-
Use of printer,
-
Damage to property - please advise us if you choose this option rather than a deduction from your deposit.
